July 2006

The organisers of T in the Park agreed to support the Kinross-shire Fund. In advance of funding the purchase of a mobile 5 aside football arena for the Youth Partnership in Kinross-shire, an arena was borrowed from Perth and set up behind the scenes at T in the Park in the artists’ compound. Six children from the Web Project in Milnathort were invited to take part against band members from The Kooks, The Zutons and The Kaiser Chiefs as well as Billy Boyd of Lord of the Rings fame. So popular was the arena that organisers of T in the Park have asked that Kinross-shire’s planned arena be available for them during the whole event next year.

May 2006

A launch party was held at Kinross House to which over 100 people from Kinross-shire attended and, in addition to being well fed and watered thanks to generous sponsorship from Forth Wines and Adam & Company, heard presentations from Jamie Montgomery and the Scottish Community Foundation introducing the fund and outlining what it hoped to achieve.
